China says India-Tibet border is ‘generally stable’, does not deny increased military activities there

(TibetanReview.net, Aug13’26) – China has said Aug 12 that the situation along the India-Tibet border remains “generally stable at the moment”, but declined to confirm reports of increased Chinese military activity in disputed areas near Arunachal Pradesh. The statement also came after India’s Ministry of External Affairs said the day before that maintaining peace in border areas was of “utmost importance” as the state of the frontier would govern the overall trajectory of bilateral ties.
