DHARAMSALA, 4 Sept: Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama returned to his residence in McLeod Ganj, Dharamsala, on Friday after spending more than two months in Ladakh, where he engaged in a series of religious and public programmes during his extended stay that began in late June.

Hundreds of Tibetans and supporters stood by the side of the road leading up to his residence with khatags (ceremonial scarves) and incense to welcome the Dalai Lama back to Dharamsala, beaming with happiness and joy.

The 91-year-old Tibetan spiritual leader had travelled to Leh on 28 June, following his recovery from knee replacement surgery on 8 June in Delhi.
