Washington DC [US], September 17 (ANI): The International Campaign for Tibet (ICT) on Wednesday (local time) called on US President Donald Trump to raise issues concerning Tibet and human rights with Chinese President Xi Jinping during their upcoming meeting in Washington DC, and urged China to take immediate and verifiable steps on its “human rights record".
According to the press release issued by the organisation, ICT has called on Trump to press Xi to resume substantive dialogue without “preconditions" with the Dalai Lama and democratically elected Tibetan leaders; release the 11th Panchen Lama, Gedhun Choekyi Nyima; and address policies concerning Tibet.
The press release said that ICT, along with dozens of human rights organisations, has called on the Chinese government to take immediate and verifiable steps concerning its “human rights record".
