Tokyo, Japan, 9 October 2026: Lobsang Choedak, Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama for Japan and East Asia, has formally assumed his responsibilities following the completion of the handover and takeover process at Tibet House Japan.
The transfer of responsibilities from the outgoing Representative, Dr. Tsewang Gyalpo Arya, to the incoming Representative, Lobsang Choedak, took place on 28 and 29 September. Karma Rinchen, Secretary of the Department of Information and International Relations (DIIR), witnessed the formal handover in person.
