Around 60 members of the Tibetan Youth Congress (TYC) staged a major “Storm Protest” outside the Chinese Embassy in New Delhi on Tuesday, July 7, condemning China’s newly enacted so-called “Ethnic Unity Law.”
The demonstration denounced China’s illegal occupation of Tibet and its systematic policies aimed at eroding Tibet’s distinct national identity, language, culture, and religion. The protesters also gathered to honour the sacrifice of Tibetan pawo (matyr) Lobga Rangzen, who self-immolated in front of the United Nations Headquarters in a call for Tibet’s independence.
