Women of Tibet: Tibetan-Swiss Artist Sonam Dolma Brauen Born in Tibet in 1953, Sonam Dolma Brauen is a Tibetan-Swiss contemporary painter and sculptor whose work spans painting, sculpture and installation. Her art has been exhibited across Europe, the United States and Asia. Having lived in India, Switzerland and New York, Sonam Dolma Brauen’s life and artistic journey have been shaped by movement, memory, identity and her Tibetan heritage. She pursued her passion for art only after becoming a mother and later studied art and installation at the Art School of Bern.
