Young American Joins TYC Chain Hunger Strike in Dharamsala on Day 25

On August 12, 2026, the Tibetan Youth Congress (TYC) marked the 25th day of its chain hunger strike in Dharamsala, with a young American, Julin, voluntarily joining the protest. Speaking to Tibet Radio, Julin said the struggle of the Tibetan people feels personal to him, describing Tibetans as family. According to TYC, Julin is the first foreigner to participate in the ongoing hunger strike, expressing solidarity with Tibetans, opposing China’s policies in Tibet, and honoring late Tibetan independence activist Lobga Rangzen.
